Create
a Beach in a Pot
Make a great summer last a little bit longer.
Enjoy a favorite beach scene year-round
on the patio or inside your home. Here
is an easy way you can create one of your
favorite summer scenes.
What You Will Need:
- A wide, low pot of your choice -
a pot that is at least 13" wide
works best.
- Potting soil.
- Three or more slow growing plants
(used here 2 shades of grass, small
succulent plant).
- White sand (at least 1 quart), driftwood,
seashells, or other desired beach
objects. You can get these items at
a pet store or from the beach house.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Fill pot within a couple inches of
pot rim.
- Take plants out of their container
and arrange in potting soil to your
liking. Pat soil down firmly around
plants, water if needed.
- Pour sand on top until potting soil
is completely covered.
- Add driftwood, seashells, etc. around
plants creating a picture perfect
beach!
- Find a home for your beach (check
the plants desires for sun and temperature).
Water once a week or as needed.
